With the Australian Bass season closed I have moved the focus to making Jewfish lures. These have been designed for casting from the ocean rock or walls. They both are 150mm long and weigh 60g (bibbed) and 45g for the other. They don't have names as of yet but we will see. Hope you enjoy

Footballs

The other night we got out to do some testing of a new walker and to run the new tweaked walker. Both lures were the bomb on a new waterway. The Bass that we encountered were FOOTBALLS.

We hope to have the new lures ready for release latter this week. Keep your eyes out

Ally Bib Walker

Nutterjuck Walker baits will be moving to Ally Bibs, need a few more tweaks than they will be ready for release. The poly bibs will no longer be produced (hint, hint, collectors).

Anyway while out testing the new addition the local Bass jumped all over it.

Stay tuned for the Ally release

New weapon

Over the last month Ive been using a new outfit.
G-loom 5ft 4 IMX
Shimano Ci4 1000

This was meant to be a yak outfit but Im finding it as my new love, goes everywhere. Its would have to be one of the lightest (in weight) outfits going.

One word

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

Old School Nutterjucks

Found these in the cave the other day. They must be about 15yrs old. I think Ill put them aside as collectors

Life after the BIG wet

The rivers are back to normal but the fields are full of little ponds. I was keen to see how my local spot held up after the flood. Last night a quick flick at the flood water hot spot showed no interest. Back in the car and time to check out jurassic park. The conditions were perfect, you know the nights that are so dark but the water glows and you can see everything thats going on. Jurassic park must of had A LOT of water moving around when the flood came as the amount of damage was insane. Even two weeks after the big wet there was sooooooo much water that even with waders on I couldn't get past the reeds. This left only two fishable spots which I peppered for about 2hrs. By the end the stats were 12-5-2 landed. The two landed were FAT and went hard. The 3 I lost were all to pulled hooks I need to re group after last night and the other week.

Some pics, Plus the white walker is becoming a new goto lure of late. I think its because the old eyes can see this thing even on the darkest of nights.

Bass Bait Prototype Testing

The other week I got out to test a new lure that Im working on. Named the nipple it worked a treat. The lure was designed to slowly sink down the face of weed beds. Twitched on a slack line the nipple will dart and slide side to side. Will make up some in white to see how they go on some bridge dwelling Bream. Will keep you posted on the results

Flood Time Bass

Last week the local area had a heap of rain, 130mm one day than 300mm a day latter. All rivers in the area were flooded and many access areas were underwater or the road closed so you couldn't get to them. Over the last few years I have come across a patten after the rivers flood. Bass will school up in a small eddy (small like 2m round) than move up stream. Not the text book condition for Bass fishing with the Bar at 998 and a strong wind that was changing directions every 1/2 hour. But still this was one of the best surface feeding/action weeks Ive experienced. Below are some pics that show the condition of these fat fish. Lures were mixed up with all lures taking fish but the stand out was the Pimped Black Knight Walker with the buzz blade off the rear. This made ALOT of commotion.

The stats went like this 3-2-1 Thats not including the 3 very small Kings (very small) that were landed.

Sneak peak

This week I was in the man cave tinkering and thinking that I need to add a diver to the Bass Bait range. Last night I got out for a test run to see how it goes. Well 3rd cast and BINGO was his name, the small diver got smashed. Still need some more testing but stay tuned as there may be a Bass Bait diver in the Nutterjuck range

Getting nude

The Bass Baits are getting nude this week. These are three custom nude bass baits that will be on their way to the north coast of NSW. I think more for show and tell than on the water.
